The way that this works, is that the 15 finalists were selected by WFNX DJs. From there, online voting determines the Top 3. From the Top 3, the ultimate winner will be picked by Coldplay themselves.

The winner gets to open up a sold-out show at Boston Garden, and gets a demo deal with Capitol Records. We are VERY close to having this happen.

Actually, one of our guys still LIVES in Grafton.
And that "other" band are pretty openly rooting for US, at this point.

Shit shit shit. Fourth place.

The band who WAS in fourth (we had a COMMANDING lead over them) pulled some crazy stunt, and racked up over 700 votes in an HOUR.

Thursday is the last day for voting, and we're currently down by about 50 votes (out of about 33,000 total)... so if anybody has any more tricks up their sleeves, now is seriously the time to spring it on us.

I think the best entry won.

It's a 20 minute set. We started rehearsing last night, and it looks like we can fit 6 songs in, with the proper segues.

For pyro, I'm bringing the M-98 firecracker that's currently sitting on my computer desk.

My pants will only be of average tightness. But you better believe my shirt's gonna have the biggest friggin' lapels you've ever seen.

We've just had our first communique with Coldplay's production manager, within the past couple hours:

They actually took that out of the equation, about halfway through the contest, due to some legal issues.

It's still there, but kind of up in the air, for the time being. And truth be told, it's probably for the better. The way it was originally written was sorta like "All your ass are belong to us, forever and ever. And we don't really have to pay you, if we don't feel like it." Now it's more like, "Ok, you guys are cool. We'll talk later."

The crew was running a few hours behind schedule (go figure)... So there were some snags with the merch situation, and all we got was a 10 minute line-check, once doors were already open. But everybody was totally cool to us all night.

The set felt fucking AWESOME. I don't usually say this kind of thing, but it felt like we were REALLY good last night. It was a little weird, because you can't see anything past the first 2 rows, or so. But the applause was loud... especially when Jason said we were from Boston.

We all met Chris Martin, and he was very gracious, and took a picture with us. And Coldplay left us a cooler full of champagne in our dressing room, with a card they all signed.

I guess I met Kate Bosworth too, but I don't know any of her movies, so I only found out it was her afterwards. And Dagnello said he ran into Seinfeld in the dining room.
