I used to listen to Throwing Muses on a continuous loop. I first heard of them in 1989, when I was about 16. They opened for R.E.M. and were touring to support their amazing album House Tornado. I was totally blown away and ended up seeing them many many times after that, with and without Tanya Donelley. They were a huge inspiration for me back then and I was so happy to realize that after not listening to them for a while, I still love these songs! David Narcizo is one of my all time favorite rock drummers.
anyway, I haven't listened to them in a long time and searched out some of my favorite songs to listen to, and I thought I would share them here. I couldn't find one of my favorite songs, Juno, but I found the video.
Re: Throwing Muses
Did Tanya Donnelly start the band Belly? I always loved the song "Feed the Tree." It was one of the first songs I downloaded when I started downloading music.

Re: Throwing Muses
Yeah Tanya started Belly and was also on the first Breeders album Pod, which is fantastic. I prefer the Throwing Muses albums that Tanya is on a little bit more than the ones that she isn't.
Kristin Hersh's solo work has been outstanding also.
Did you know they are step sisters?
Re: Throwing Muses
Wow I havent heard "Your Ghost" in I don't even know how long. Reminds me of my college days.
"Feed The Tree" is from Belly's "Star" album which is always in my playlists. I love it.
Jim, do you have the whole album?
Stay is one of my favorite sad songs and Slow Dog is one of my favorite pick me up songs.

Re: Throwing Muses
I don't have the Star CD, but I gather from your post that you think I should! I will put it in next month's downloading budget.
