A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence.

Re: The Perennials

Ok enough about me guys!

Let me tell you a little about this band. I heard of them about a year ago when I went to check out a band I was looking to book called Desert Sea, It turns out the place that they were playing "Castle Greyskull" was not a club in Allston, which was the impression I was under, but rather a basement packed with about 200 kids. One of the scenester dudes was talking shit about a band called the Perennials and how much press they got in Boston. I had forgotten about them until recently and I looked them up. I immediatley loved what I heard and knew I had to get them out here to play my Invictus Music Festival Series @ Tammany Hall (my pride and joy). I hope you all will make it a point to come see them 3.22 @ Tam

This is what the Boston Press has to say about The Perennials--

The Perennials placed second out of hundreds of great local bands in the WFNX Rock Star Rising contest, and have been their "local band of the week".

* "Sorta reminds me of the Misfits, except that instead of a singer who's trying to be a demonic Frankie Lymon, they've got a singer who's a demonic Moz. Messed-up melodic trash-punk + talented singer = awesomeness."
-Carly Carioli, The Boston Phoenix

* "New wave with all the hooks and none of the wimpish emasculation."
-Mike Snoonian, Pocket Full of Chump Change

*"When the Perennials played a waltz last night...lead singer John Flax's eyes rolled back in his head, and the crowd...swayed back and forth. Flax then mounted a speaker (he rode it like a horse) and lead guitarist Brandon Phillips, in checkered lumberjack top and neat afro, took a slow swig from his PBR..."
-The Boston Phoenix

...The Perennials attempt to marry the My Bloody V...
* "The Perennials attempt to marry the My Bloody Valentine wall of sound with the shambolic casualness of The Velvet Underground."
-Luke O'Neill, The Boston Metro

* "[The Perennials' new song] 'Delerium Tremont' is staggering drunk, all over the place and loving every minute."
-Warren Ellis, author of cult comic "Transmetropolitan" and co-creator, along with Nick Cave, of the film score for "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford"

* "The sound of wrecking balls toppling historic buildings injected with melodies stronger than a slugger on HGH! the Perennials promise for growth extends both deeper dark underground and up towards the open blue sky. The bloom might even sting your eyes."
-thepillboston.com

"The Perennials bring psych rock for all seasons!"...
* "The Perennials bring psych rock for all seasons!"
-Michael Marotta, The Boston Herald

Come check them out!

Re: The Perennials

Hey guys, I just google searched my band and found this...  I remember that specific Desert Sea show, hahaha. It was a great time... Haters always gotta be tryin to dull our shine though, I guess...

Anyway, this show is gonna be a total blast. Last time we did Worcester (Ralph's w./ Retrosleeper and Joshua English) was so incredibly fun that I know y'all won't disappoint. So yeah check our new songs on the myspizzle in the meantime and hopefully I'll seeya in a few weeks!
