The 50 most common used CDs

I'm not sure how old this is, but some dude put together this list. It's pretty funny since I've seen numerous copies of a lot of them while digging through used discs.

I've got 10 of the 54 (the techincal number of discs he ranks), and sadly, I probably bought them all brand spankin' new.

Funny. Nine of them were at Dynamo's, I have two on cassette, and thought of buying three of them when I saw them.

I haven't looked through the whole thing but right off the bat that Dambuilder's cd is up there. That CD is fantastic. Everyone should own that disc.

i loved dambuilders. i've got 'encendedor', but not that one. coincidentally, i recently picked up an old comp of acoustic songs by boston bands of that era. dambuilder's 'drive by kiss' is on it.

their drummer kevin march was the last drummer in guided by voices.

and joan wasser was s-e-x-y

Huh, I only actually own 3 out of the entire list (only bought 6 total) but I have to say I don't even KNOW 50% of the artists on that list. Guess I was never "alternative" enough for whoever put that list together!

I have 20, and I bet Duncan has the majority of them.

"Shame" by Brad is awesome.

I own 10 of those, and I'm STILL not embarrassed to own Jesus Jones or Ned's Atomic Dustbin. That Catherine Wheel record is kinda shit tho. :-)

"Happy Days" was definitely a product of the moment. I still like "Heal" and a few songs from it, though. The singer definitely found a new scope to his voice on that album.

I have 25 of them. I still listen to about 14 of them fairly regularly. I'm glad he trashed that Ride record, that one and the Frente one particularly pissed me off when I bought them.

That Jesus and Mary Chain album is in my cd case right now. Far Gone and Out is definitely one of my all time faves.

I don't give a fuck. Urban Dance Squad was the shit.

I don't think your band is very good.

Ditto. that's may styyyyyyyyyyyyyllllllle.

In reference to that song "deeper shade of soul"...it's the single version that has the chorus in key, but it's the album version, chorus totally out of key, that's the more endearing track. I love the warped-ness of it. Almost unlistennable, but then totally groovin.

One of the first CDs I ever owned was a cd single of Far Gone and Out. It disappeared mysteriously from my dorm room years later, along with my copy of Aqualung.
