this past Sunday, the newly-formed conscious hip hop crew Honorable Mention took first place out of about 10 acts in a battle of the bands at The Atrium

Honorable Mention consists of:
-The smooth rhymes and smoother trumpet playing of MC/musician Afro DZ ak
-The amazing lyricism and high energy of MC Metaphorick
-The legendary DJ Shame on the turntables
(plus soul singer Agyeman, who was unable to make this past show)

we beat out many talented acts of all genres (rock, punk, etc;) and we represented real hip hop well (the only other hip hop act that competed was on some typical 'let me brag about my chain and rap about shooting people' bullshit

as a reward we will be doing a major show July 29 at The Palladium- details forthcoming

both the battle and the upcoming show have been put together by Kaleem from Concerts4Charity... proceeds from the battle of the bands went to local youth organizations
