Bee's Knees at Ralph's last Friday

I don't feel up to writing a big review but The Bee's Knees sounded really good this past weekend. There was a nice feel to the set, with what seemed like a lot of psychedelic interludes and experimenting (jamming almost) in the middle and end of songs. The sound was also good, maybe the extended stage helped this? Ed Barnett played some really great solos, probably the best I have seen him play.

The crowd was typically reserved. Worcester audiences are always tough when it comes to getting them to loosen up. I would like to see what they could do if they performed to a looser crowd, maybe a outdoor festival atmosphere or someplace with a party atmosphere?

I just stand around at shows and stare so I am just as much to blame.

Anyway, those guys sounded great on Friday.

Thanks, Duncan. The show felt great so I am glad that it translated well. As far at the crowd goes, I actually thought about that while on stage and realised that I would have been doing the same thing, standing around and listening, so it didn't bother me at all.

I had a blast and glad that you enjoyed the show. Thanks!

Yeah, I have come to accept that crowds in Worcester don't move too much. I guess I just feel that many of your songs are supposed to make you move a bit. Toe tapping at least! I don't think that it reflects poorly on the band that the audience doesn't physically get into it but it is odd anyway. I hear you guys as sort of rowdy, a little bit stoned pop a little bit country rock and something that you would hear people hollering at.
