"Gravity" is an AWESOME song

I listen to the Curtain Society almost every day because I love them, and recently I pulled out my copy of Anon, the sequel to "Soon", an art/music benefit CD put out a while back by Cynthia Von Buhler. For every song on the Cd there is an artists interpritation of it. Musicians like Lisa Germano, Chainsuck, Turkish Delight and An April March are a few of the 30 bands on it.

For this compilation, The Curtain Society reworked an older song "Gravity"..I don't remember why it was chosen, I do remember really liking the song when it was on "where are you", but this version just blows me away.

how about this line..

"Given half a chance I'd dig a hole at least as big as me. I'd fill it up with sins and guilt and call it my epitome."

Jesus. Roger, you are a fucking genius.
This song rocks. If you dont have it, get it.

Re: "Gravity" is an AWESOME song

Maybe this was a mistake but after much consideration, Ron and I have decided to ask Roger to leave the band to make room for our new singer Constantine.

Speaking of Anon, if anyone has a copy of it that is not being listened to, and is willing to sell it, I will be happy to buy it from you.

I have a copy opened and un-opened but I want to hang on to them. They have it on amazon.com though.

Barry, I really appreciate your kind word... I'm fond of that take of the song too...

As to why it was picked, iirc, we weren't totally happy with the Where Are You version, and wanted to get a really good version recorded, and we liked what Duncan was doing with it, so.....

Edit: I obviously don't recall when that comp went down...so long ago and all...hope I didn't offend you Duncan, it was early...that came out AFTER Inertia? geez, I'm retarded. Nix yer quote and we can all forget this ever happenned. :straight:

Sorry folks...mmm, my foot tastes good!

I'm out getting my abs airbrushed on...leave a message

wasn't that essentially the first recording with you Duncan? I kinda forget...memory failing, need donut.

Naw that was after "Love Ends" on Soon, the "Inertia" cd and "Cradle" on Woke Up Smiling.

Here is our discography Ron, in case you need it. ;-)

Re: "Gravity" is an AWESOME song

Why did this thread randomly pop up?

Oh.... that's what "random" means.

Yes, it was "love ends", but the first recording was the unreleashed cover of "I Wanna Be Sedated" which was basically us trying to see if you would make it sound like The Curtain Society. Apparently, you passed the test. Good job, Ron Wood.

:)

Gravity would have been a great song if only it didn't have that awful chorus. Bad Roger, Bad.

I Thought you were talking about John Mayer's "Gravity"...now that's a good song.

I thought it was Nuno's single from his first solo CD. Now that would have been random.

I'm ok with the fact that I own that one. Not so much that I don't the other.

Still great. It pisses me off that Coldplay are famous and the Curtain Society are not.

Roger has to learn how to be more Bono-esque and wear stickers arounds his fingers that represent countries ravaged by famine, and marry a movie star...
