Let me say that the WAG screwed Rob Newton and the MassBay Film Festival. They decided that after they had there agreement that Rob would have to hire a firefight and a police man for his screenings, which tripled his cost. Luckily, I had room last minute in Razzo Hall at Clark to put him in and save him some money. Then, when he had his screening at WAG on Friday, that he couldn't move, he had about 150 people show up and they decided that they would only allow 60 people in. This whole thing is rediculous and people should call this guy out at every opportunity. Hank Stoltz did on Tuesday morning on his morning show on WTAG. I was so happy to hear him criticise the WAG landlord after what he did to MassBay. I didn't even know about the other events that he was screwing as well. I hate to boycott WAG, but how else to we make this guy suffer?
When things like this happen, I usually suspect an ulterior motive. I heard that the landlord wanted a better clientele etc. but I don't buy it. He wants them to fail for a reason.
My quote in the article should have been "you don't usually see folk and hip hop at the same event"- woulda made more sense that way.
yeah i don't know this Paul Conger dude, but I definitely get the sense that he doesn't give a shit about Worcester and basically wants to screw over the artist community- i'm especially skeptical of his motives since this event was centered around "riot folk" and "hip hop"- maybe he thought riot folk meant we actually were gonna riot or something- and "hip hop?"- oh no, not hip hop- when he heard there was gonna be hip hop he probably shit himself and hid in a corner because we all know that hip hop is dangerous and Afro DZ ak is a menace to society and naturally any event i perform in must have cops around to protect everyone... yeah.. sure
I gotta say though, The Orphanage Crew did hold it down breakdancing ON THE ASPHALT.. it was crazy- they pulled off pretty much their whole routine outside on the asphalt driveway- mad props for that
this thing called rhyming no different from coal mining- we both on assignment to unearth the diamond
-Mos Def.........
I don't understand this whole thing. When you rent out the room for a function do you rent it from this landlord or do you rent it from WAG? Does anyone know?
Actaully don't boycott the WAG, the landlord of the Sprinkler Factory changed the rules mid game and they had to comply. We need to support all of their efforts.
