iPod beauty contests

I don't know if anyone read the story in today's (tues, 4/05) Boston Globe about Common Ground holding iPod dj nights. I've heard of these in Chicago and SF and they kind of fascinate me.

Basically, you bring in your best, or most obscure or hippest iPod playlist to be played in a club. First of all, you get to hear your playlist outside of your headphones, (certainly a trip for the more vainglorious of us), but you also get a free pass into someone else's psyche (after all, isn't that what a good playlist is?).

I don't know if Worcester could support a full evening of such ego, but it would be a cool thing to hear between sets. It might just get us to seek out stuff we've never been exposed to.

Re: iPod beauty contests

this is a fun idea, where in Worcester do you think this could happen?

Re: iPod beauty contests

I think a perfect place for a dry run is the networking mixer. Creative clientele, reasonably open-minded, motivated enough to be out on a Monday night. Of course, that involves a bit of infrastructure ( PA, etc.).
