That other redevelopment project

While it seems everyone in Worcester is talking about what isn’t happening with the City Square project, not much has been said about the redevelopment project now under way just down the street.  Today’s T&G has a great piece on the parcel of downtown land most recognizable as home of the former David Burwick Furniture Co and its current owner David Rodriguez-Pinzon.

The development, slated for completion in fall 2008, will have 185 mixed-income condominium and apartment units in four buildings and at least 5,000 square feet of commercial space, he said.

Re: That other redevelopment project

It's funny, I didn't even read this when it got posted. My thoughts were great, I love the development but this is just more housing I cannot afford. I am glad that someone is actually thinking of the middle income city dweller for a change in Worcester. People of my income are getting pretty sick of their only option being 3 deckers I think.
Of course there is other housing available to me in Worcester besides a 3 decker but those options are few and far between. Plus it seems like the developer actually "gets" city living and is trying to provide that here with the whole urban village thing.

Good news!
