Good morning everyone,
I'm taking it upon my self to make a little announcement today, something that I hope all of our users find as exciting as I do. I'm sure most of you have at least heard about, if your not already making use of, podcasts. If your not using them yet, you should be, they're everywhere and they're free. The idea behind a podcast is a simple one. Instead of broadcasting audio content over traditional radio or through streaming Internet radio; a podcast is delivered onto your HD in the same way an RSS feed is so the content can be made use of when you see fit. Whether that be while you sitting at your computer, or on the road via an mp3 player the playback is under your control.
Duncan and I have been talking for awhile about the ways we can make Volcano Boy as interesting as possible and producing a collection of podcasts promoting the best independent music we can find seemed like a solid next step. So starting 3/7/05 immediately following the next networking mixer at the Lucky Dog Music Hall, Duncan, myself and Mike Mars (formerly of 'Worcester Rocks') will begin producing [b]

Re: Podcasting comes to Volcano Boy...
Will there be music from groups like The Curatin Society and Huck played on the show, or is it only talk radio?
And does this work on Windows Media Player?

Re: Podcasting comes to Volcano Boy...
The programming of the show will be like the programming of the website. If it is relevant to the Central MA scene then it will be on there. That means you will hear bands that are passing through the area on tour and you will hear locally grown stuff. What you wont hear is stuff that the DJs of the various shows don't like. This is not equal opportunity. We're doing this for our own twisted reasons and frankly if we don't like something, why the hell would we play it?
With that said, I like my band and Huck just fine, but as with this site, it is not a vehicle to promote my own projects.
PS. March 12, The Curtain Society, The Deadites and Giraffe are at Ralph's ;-)
