proud stock holder, I am happy to hear that Sirius has grabbed Nascar broadcasts from XM. After hearing Mel Karmizan (CEO of Sirius) speak at this years 2005 Media Summit it only makes sense that he is going after the best content he can. "No matter where it is, mobile phones, pdas, cars or television people want content" and it's true content is what drives the media industry. You can have the best technology in the world but if there is nothing on it who cares?
Sirius Steals NASCAR From XM

In the first major content shift from one satcaster to the other, Sirius Satellite Radio has grabbed satellite radio broadcast rights to NASCAR racing and events from XM Satellite Radio. Beginning in 2007, Sirius will broadcast all NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races live on a specially created, 24/7 NASCAR channel.
Sirius becomes the official satellite radio partner of NASCAR, with exclusive trademark and marketing rights, and the right to sell all advertising time on its NASCAR channel and during the race broadcasts. Sirius will pay NASCAR rights fees totaling $107.5 million over the five-year agreement, with the highest payments in the final years of the term.
