There is a new Scorsese movie about The Rolling Stones coming out in April and I just saw it will be playing in Imax theaters. I will shop for a new couch then check this out.
I like that Scorsese is so into making music movies.

Re: Shine a Light - new Stones movie
As much as I love the Stones I could seriously give a shit less about seeing a recent live performance. Especially with Christina Arugula and (why the fuck ain't you dead already) Jack White (who, according to the credits, is now going by the FUCKING ANNOYING Jack White III). If this is actually a documentary on the history of the band, I will wait until DVD, edit out all the shitty pieces, and have a good Louie approved documentary.

Marty can do no wrong...and if "No Direction" was any indication of what this could be---it should be fantastic...especially in IMAX.
Re: Shine a Light - new Stones movie
did anyone ever end up seeing this? I never made it to the theater for it but I just ordered the DVD.
Re: Shine a Light - new Stones movie
I think they're still playing it at the IMAX at the Aquarium, only on Saturday at 8 p.m. though. I wanted to go last weekend but our shopping went way longer than we had planned.
Re: Shine a Light - new Stones movie
I recently caught this on Blu Ray. Looks great, sounds great but it's an overall self indulgent bore fest.
Re: Shine a Light - new Stones movie
I find watching those guys exist off stage fascinating. It's a world I can hardly imagine being part of. Decades of being rock stars and living that life is so strange. Is it mostly on stage stuff or is there behind the scenes footage?
I suppose I will find out soon enough when it arrives in the mail.
Re: Shine a Light - new Stones movie
It is mostly on stage...if you've seen a Stones show- nothing new here. They don't dive in too deep, just backstage antics like coming up with a set list, etc, with Marty running around trying to get the show off the ground. I just expected more of a Dylan "No Direction Home" type doc.-- but definetly worth a viewing.
I'm looking forward to one he is doing on George Harrison.
