Live Music and fresh raspberries Thursday

duncan's picture

We are gonna have a good time at The Dive this Thursday.

Here is the band we have assembled (with details) that will be playing this week.

Brooks Milgate (Hey Now Morris Fader, Gutta) on vocals & keys, Scott Ricciuti (Huck, Shana Morrison) vocals & guitar, Michael Thibodeau (The Bee's Knees) vocals & guitar and Duncan Arsenault (The Curtain Society, Collapsible Three, Shana Morrison) drums.

We are gonna play music, you'll have some great drinks and Friday you will wake up happy you live around Worcester.

If you don't already know about The Dive, here is the low down.

It's a bar at 34 Green Street with a great staff, a cool atmosphere and atonishing amounts of craft brews, over 80 bottles and 16 taps if you are curious.

On Thursday, a tradition of tapping a Cask was started and to celebrate The Dive started having music. Why celebrate a Cask? Well it's a cool thing, that's why. NOBODY serves Cask beer in this area. It just doesn't happen (yet).

Bar opens at 6

Music starts around 8

No cover charge

see you there.

Re: Live Music Thursday

We need a drum roll for this announcement........The Cask is......B.B.C. Raspberry Strong Ale!

This beer only comes out once a year around Feb.  This is the first Cask released from this years batch!  They use over a 1/2 pound of fresh raspberries per gallon!  It comes in at just over 9%abv so consider yourselves warned!

I will also be tapping a barrel of Youngs Double Chocolate Stout which makes an amazing float on top of the Raspberry Strong Ale.

Oh, and Duncan? I might have a gift for you from California, if you still want it.

we came up with minimal meets retro meets fun meets eclectic.

Re: Live Music and fresh raspberries Thursday

I was in total heaven last night and it was sooo tasty. But at 9% I really should know better than to drink 3. Yes Alec, you did warn me. But I threw caution to the wind for such an amazing concotion.

Nectar of the GODS I say!

Re: Live Music and fresh raspberries Thursday

I didn't love the raspberry cask but that Hop Stoopid was delicious. I think I expected more of a lambic like the Lindemans, not sure.

Thanks everyone for hanging out and listening to the music and to Mike and his rousing rendition of Folsom Prison Blues.

What's on cask for next week Alec?

Re: Live Music and fresh raspberries Thursday

Next weeks cask is still up in the air.  I'm waiting on a coffee stout from the Winter Coat Brewery in Denmark.  Hopefully that will be here in time.  Also a Mussette cask from Allagash is due in anyday now.  I'll keep you posted.  If you like the Hop Stoopid you should try the ultra rare Racer X that I just got in!  It's on tap now.
