This Thursday at the Dive, Roger Lavallee, Ron Mominee and I will be playing Curtain Society songs and some covers along with our good friend Scott Ricciuti (Huck). For the past year or so the four of us have been performing as Shana Morrison's backup band as well as Jim Carroll's. Between us we know a ton of songs, it should be a fun night of music.
and lots and lots of beer!
music starts at 8pm
no cover

Re: The Dive this Thursday (11/15)
This Thursday I hope someone with unlimited Verizon service calls me at 8pm so I can listen in all night, unless there is WiFi at the Dive then someone can set up a camera/computer and I can watch through Skype/Yahoo/Eyeball.
Thanks.
I know What I Like And I Like What I Know

While this sounds very lovely, I'll be at Les Miserable.
All done with nice.
Re: The Dive this Thursday (11/15)
Patty and I went to the Dive bar tonight and let me tell ya, they need "bar tenders" not cute girls with shitty service! I was having a nice time until I went to get a third beer and waited at the bar for ten minutes while being ignored and seeing other people belly up and get immediate service! That's bullshit! My two previous rounds of two beers, I left a two dollar tip each time which seems more than good to me yet the next time up I was completely ignored. Acknowledgement is all I needed if you are that busy! I wanted to stay and enjoy the music but I was so irritated I had to leave. This may be my last time there. Get some "Bar Tenders"
Re: The Dive this Thursday (11/15)
Hi Rob. I miss you, come visit after the holidays and we can get our asses kicked by real beach volleyball players.
As for the Dive, You and i have been on the other end of you experience countless times at the Grafton Inn. We could walk in there and get served twice before someone else. Same thing at Ralphs or Vincents. I've only been to the dive a few times recently but from What I get about the crowd, it's a lot of the same people every Thursday. If the bartender sees the same faces every week, they will get served faster. Simple. Last week I went out for breakfast at the same place, and time I have gone almost every Sunday i've been here. I walked in, had a water and coffee as I sat down, she confirmed my order then took orders from 5 other assorted people that were there before me. My food was out in 5 min and I was almost done eating before the guy next to me got his order....almost exactly the same thing I ordered. Was it fair, no. But it was fine as far as I was concerned. Don't be mad at the Dive, that's just the way it is.
Re: The Dive this Thursday (11/15)
I hear you Barry and NO I don't want to get my ass kicked by "real" volleyball players. I've seen how good they can be! The foolishness of such bad service is keeps others from becoming regulars because you don't have to shit on me twice for me to say screw this! There are plenty of bars in the sea so I'll find somewhere else to drink like a fish!
Re: The Dive this Thursday (11/15)
Oof.
Well aside from the service how was last night? I didn't go to bed until about 1:30pm and slept through not just the Dive Bar but also slept through a meeting for a beer at Vincent's. Sounds like it must have been a really good time.
Re: The Dive this Thursday (11/15)
TCS and Scott, What can I say, always enjoyable. I could watch Duncan play drums on his own.
Re: The Dive this Thursday (11/15)
I enjoyed last night's show very much. Every time I go into the Dive Bar, I don't know 90% of the people, but there are always 2-3 who I am happily surprised to run into. I like that kind of scene.
Re: The Dive this Thursday (11/15)
couldn't stay as long as i'd like but a damn good time.

Re: The Dive this Thursday (11/15)
Hi Rob. You don't know me nor I you, from a hole in the wall. With that said, I won't take your previous comment to heart. However I will remind you, that bartenders are human beings, not machines. Barry, who has been one of my regular customers for a long time, is right. It is what it is babe. It's a doggy dog world, and sometimes it is nothing personal, just shit luck. So next time your waiting for a drink one too many minutes at the bar, look at whose behind it.
Rethink posting a nasty message, when they are only there to help you have a good time.
Re: The Dive this Thursday (11/15)
Nasty message? Are you kidding? I didn't take the shitty service personally, I just don't tolerate it. When you get lousy service do YOU return to that place? If you do, your a fool!
Re: The Dive this Thursday (11/15)
Barry and I have been friends for a few years now and he would be the first one to post his displeasure with an establishment but Barry being Barry, he likes to take an opposing view. He knows very well from when he owned the Silvertone, that I am a good customer who is polite and friendly to wait staff and a good tipper. I am also understanding when a bartender or wait person is buried in work. I wanted to express my disappointment and there it is. I believe in America one is still allowed to do that!
