Scott Ricciuti and Duncan Arsenault Thursday at the Dive + Cask Ale

duncan's picture

Thursday (8/16 and 8/23) at the Dive Bar, Scott Ricciuti and I are playing songs all night and the Dive is continuing its tradition of a new cask every Thursday.

The Dive opens at 6pm, music starts around 8pm and goes late. No cover charge, come on down for the best beer selection around and a couple guys playing music.

Read about how special Cask Ale is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cask_ale and  http://www.realale.com/articles.php?tPath=11

If I heard correctly, the cask is going to be Gritty's Halloween ESB.

greenandtemple's picture

Re: Scott Ricciuti and Duncan Arsenault Thursday at the Dive + C

Yes Gritty's Halloween Ale it is!

Thursday also happens to be Danielle's birthday!  She'll probably hate me for mentioning it(27), but she will be bartending so make sure you say happy birthday!

I think there will be a predominance of Huck tunes but I'm trying to learn some covers, or, at least the words.

thanks everyone for coming. Scott and I are going to do it again this Thursday. So for anyone that enjoyed it or missed it, or just like great beer and can block out the music, please come down.

I forget what this weeks cask is, but I recall Alec saying it was something very special.

Alec?

Re: Scott Ricciuti and Duncan Arsenault Thursday at the Dive + C

The Cask this week is Bengali Tiger I.P.A. from Sixpoint Craft Ales, Brooklyn, NY.  I tried it for the first time last week on cask at Bukowski's Back Bay...it was superb!  It has a wonderful balance which seems to be lacking in many American IPA's today.  I also have a barrel of their Otis Stout which should be on line by Thursday.  This is a Sweet Stout (Oatmeal) which has had rave reviews!

Re: Scott Ricciuti and Duncan Arsenault Thursday at the Dive + C

It's tough getting casks these days!  Almost went without!  BUT, our friends at BBC pulled through and filled the void.  We have a cask of the Berkshire Ale this Thursday.  This beer is great on cask as some of you already know.  We've done this one a couple of times this year.

As for the draught line-up.......here goes

Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier, Germany 5.4% (From The Worlds Oldest Brewery)Simply Amazing!  You couldn't have a better beer for a warm night!

St. Bernardus Prior 8, Belgium 8%

Otis Oatmeal Stout, Sixpoint Craft Ales, NYC 6.1%

O'Hara's Irish Stout, Ireland. 4.3%

Old Rasputin Imperial Stout, North Coast Brewing, CA 9%

Punkin' Ale, Dogfish Head Brewery, DE 7%

Bengali Tiger I.P.A., Sixpoint Craft Ales, NYC 6.8%

Octoberfest, Berkshire Brewing Co. MA 6%

Coffee House Porter, Berkshire Brewing Co. MA 6.3%

Racer 5 I.P.A., Bear Republic, CA 7%

Allagash White, Allagash Brewing Co. ME 5.5%

Allagash Tripel Reserve, Allagash Brewing Co. ME 9%

Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar (ITS BACK!) Rogue Ales, OR 6.2%

Beer Of The Gods, High And Mighty Brewing, MA 5%

Old Engine Oil, Harviestoun Scotland, 6%

The Maharaja Imperial I.P.A., Avery Brewing, CO. 9.8%

Here's where it gets a bit complicated.....I have to choose from the following for the first available line....

Hop Rod Rye, Bear Republic, CA 8%

Milk Stout,Left Hand Brewing, CO. 5.2%

Double I.P.A., Stoudt's Brewing Co. PA 10.6%

St. Bernardus ABT 12, Belgium 10%

St. Bernardus Triple, Belgium 8%

Red Seal Pale Ale, North Coast Brewing CA 5.5%

Red's Rye, Founders Brewing Co. MI 6.8%

Suggestions are always welcome!
