Picking your favorite Beatles album is like picking your favorite child. It's tough because for every "Mr. Moonlight" there is a "I Don't Wanna Spoil The Party" (Beatles For Sale), for every "All Together Now" there's a "Hey Bulldog" (Yellow Submarine)...but...
3. Let It Be...Naked: Paul, why bother? Phil Spector's production was great and why did he omit songs i.e."Dig It"? Only plus------adding "Don't Let Me Down", one of their best.
2. Help: Uneven, marginal at best. Title tracks great, "I Need You" is a great underated Harrison ditty, "You're Gonna Lose That Girl", "Act Natually"...great great great! "Another Girl", "Dizzie Miss Lizzie", "The Night Before"---not so great.
1. Magical Mystery Tour: MAJOR misstep! The epitome of commercialized Psychedelic nonsense. Shit premise, shit songs and an even shittier movie. The title track? "Blue Jay Way"? "Flying"?...yack!
Re: LEAST favorite Beatles albums....
ouch! I love Magical Mystery Tour! I hate Fool on the Hill but Magical Mystery Tour, Blue Jay Way, I'm the Walrus, Hello Goodbye, Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane, Baby You're a Rich Man and All You Need Is Love are awesome, awesome songs.
I am not a huge fan of the White Album as a whole or Let it Be but with that said. Those two albums are better than any other band has ever written so they are aren't THAT bad haha. It's the Beatles after all. This is all relative.
Re: LEAST favorite Beatles albums....
I love those two songs together! Such a great contrast of tension and mellow groovyness. Is "groovyness" even a word?
