Hold Steady and Springsteen? I guess I haven't heard enough to make that comparison. From what I've heard, I don't hear that at all. I only like the remix of "Killer Parties" so far.

I don't hear Echo in the Arcade Fire either, but I don't have the new CD yet. You know what DOES sound like the Bunnymen to me is the production on the Shins' "Phantom Limb." It totally reminds me of "Bring on the Dancing Horses." In a good way.

Panda Bear, I've only heard the one 10 minute song they play on LOC on Sirius. I like it a little, but it gets old while I'm driving.... Very Beach Boys influenced, soundwise. Musically however, if you want the ultimate in indie/Beach Boys, you HAVE to check out the new CD, waiting for the time to be right from Providence's The Brother Kite. It's so won wahwah wonderful....

the hold steady - love 'em.   almost killed me and separation sunday are better than the latest.  check out craig finn's pre-hold steady band lifter puller.

arcade fire - loved a couple tracks off funeral & the latest single, but the records as a whole don't grab me.  they were great on SNL though it was funny to watch the lead dude needing 5 attempts to smash his acoustic.
