Planet Terror was amazing, one of the best and most fun zombie movies I have ever seen. Really gorey, really funny, really campy and very well done.
Death Proof was weak. There were some totally amazing stunts and cool chase and fight scenes but there was what seemed like days of boring and exhausting dialogue. I would go see this double feature again but leave before Death Proof.
Re: Grindhouse
Agreed. I went on Saturday night at the 7:45 show and there was only a smattering of people there.
Anyway if there ever is a sequel despite it's weaker than predicted performance this weekend ... I hope "MACHETE" and "THANKSGIVING" get made!
Re: Grindhouse
I want them to make "Don't"
Re: Grindhouse
Planet Terror was the greatest movie I've seen in a long time. It's one of my favorite movies.
-- Michael Parks is cast as Texas Ranger Earl Mcgraw in three of my favorite movies.
I liked Death Proof. Stuntman Mike was wicked bad ass and he's a riot in the second half of Death Proof. I just think there should have been less chicks talking about weed and guys. They were hot girls, but they should have cut down on some of the dialogue instead of cutting out the lap dance (which will be on the dvd). It would have picked the movie up.
I did like how the group of girls totally changes. From that point on I liked it, but having to sit through the first half of the dialogue made it difficult to sit through more dialogue.
I love the car chase and I love the ending. As usual, I will buy both director's soundtracks as well as the movie.
Machete was my favorite trailer.

Re: Grindhouse
Did anyone see that "Chick Habit"by APRIL MARCH is in the credits for Death Proof.
When I first saw that they were on the soundtrack, I was like, "wait, I've met them!"
Then I realized it's not AN APRIL MARCH, it's a chick-surf band.
