thanks to everyone for coming out. Lots of new people were there and speaking for myself I had a lot of really great conversations tonight. I had a really interesting talk with Cliff Goodwin about the state of live music in Worcester as well as some great talks with Andrew Teman and Adrian from Tuckerman Hall. Thanks to everyone for coming. I would love to hear your thoughts on the event.

Re: the 2nd networking mixer
I had a great time. I have a nice chat with Pete from Whiz Spark about Irish TImes and talked marketing for a while with the guit player from Craig (I always forget his name). Tony showed me around the Pulse office area and it was nice to go to SPQR (or as I call it, NRBQ) for the first time. Nice place (maybe a little too nice!) a bit pricey, but it is a beautiful place.
Thanks, Duncan.

Re: the 2nd networking mixer
This was my second time attending the networking mixer and my experience has only gotten better. I had an opportunity to promote an upcoming art and music event at Union Station that Doug Chapel and I are putting together, and to talk up stART on the Street. I had a great time talking to some break dancers and I am hoping to involve them in the March event at the station and maybe hook them up at the YMCA to teach local kids how to bust a move.
These events are so important in breaking down walls that for some reason a lot of us have, it takes the mystery out of what other people are doing in Worcester and they then become more accessible. I have a better understanding of what people in my community are doing and how I can get involved in those things. It is also nice to touch base with people who you normally only see in a club and have to yell at because the music is loud! I look forward to the next one and I am hoping to bring some more folks with me.

I eavesdropped on this conversation for a bit. A lot of your points were right on the money Duncan. This was a real good time. The folks from Tastemakers would like to become involved too.

I was referring to an article I wrote here on VB when I was talking to Cliff. If you you haven't already read it, here is a link The Struggle in our Music Scene
Re: the 2nd networking mixer
I just read it. Thanks for sharing. We'll have to discuss this next time I see you.
Re: the 2nd networking mixer
I think these mixers have been great as well. Looking forward to the next one. I'm especially hoping to find people interested in organizing a hip hop show somewhere in Worcester featuring local socially-conscious MCs.
