Weekend Review

Saw The Brett Rosenberg Problem, The Daily Pravda, and Super 400 on Friday night at Ralph's.

Brett Rosenberg is what might happen if you took Oh My Soul by Big Star and based an entire band around it, which actually isn't a bad idea if you have a guitarist as good as Mr. Rosenberg. Enjoyable set.

The Daily Pravda, have one fantastic frontman which makes them a fun band to see live. I'd like to hear more recordings of them however to figure out how much I actually like them. Worth seeing rock spectacle wise though.

Last time I saw Super 400 I remember thinking to myself, good band, but they don't do anything for me. Wow have I come around. Super tight, super great sounding, super duper rhythm section. All around great band. I'll be back to see them next time they play up here.

Anyone else see anything good this weekend? Anyone see anything that wasn't so good? What did you do this weekend volcano boy?

Re: Weekend Review

I saw a band in the Ship Room Friday night. I don't know their name. I wish bands had their name on the drum, either that or announced their name after each song.

One of my friends was like, "This is a jam band, I don't like this stuff," but I had a good time.

Re: Weekend Review

Eli and I stopped into the ship room for a bit to check out the room since we are playing on March 12th (shameless plug)...

They have no house sound system, the local 'color' is spectacular, the beers...CHEAP AS HELL!

Gansetts for a buck!

Re: Weekend Review

We had our NYC CD release show Friday night @ Crash Mansion. Great room, and the sound in there is unbelieveable.

We played with a couple really good bands, and one band that unfortunately sounded exactly like the Killers. All the bands wore little girl pants, and had backwards haircuts. I'm glad we don't do that.

Saturday night, I didn't do shit.

I don't think your band is very good.

Re: Weekend Review

I got a chance to see the song show on saturday.  What a great time.  Those guys really do those covers great.  I usually don't go to Lucky dog and by usually I mean never, but it was an awesome night and i'll definately see them again.  We had to leave a little early to catch the end of Ray Hendricks and the Revival's set.  If you have not seen this band you should really make a point to check them out.  Ray is one of the best vocalist around.  He sounds kind of like Tracy Chapman in a way.  They really put on an excellent, high energy show I get jealous of them everytime i see them.  It was a really good night for music.
