New Beck...kinda sucks? Anyone care?

I was excited to hear that Beck was releasing a new "60's style vibe" record with Danger Mouse behind the boards. I haven't been excited about Beck since high school...although Midnight Vultures was a good record and Sea Changes was pretty cool as well.

I've heard two singles, "Gamma Ray" and "Chemtrails"...they he forget to put a hook in these?

Kinda sucks.
Great idea, bad execution.

Used to be one of my absolute favorites. I have completely lost intrest. I didn't even hear one track off the last album.

I've only heard Chemtrails and I actually love it... at least sonically. It reminds me of the last CD of his that I loved, which was Seachange.

Maybe I like it because I love the production on it.

I still love Seachange though. So many great songs on there. I don't even mind all the Nick Drake and Gordon Lightfoot sound-alikes.

i like sea-change a lot too.

im listening to the new beck right now.

how come all the new hipster CDs have bass playing that sounds like chris squire from yes?
i love the tones on this CD nonetheless. so far i really like it as a whole.
