Greetings from GONZOland

Have been bumping into old and new friends on Green Street and @ the Abbey recently (Duncan, this post is for you) and have made a commitment to stop 'lurking' here and start posting (maybe even ranting a bit).

Recent Events:
Coffee w/Konnie, interview 7/24/08 @ Tatnuck on the Rise. Had coffee and a few laughs with our esteemed mayor (prior to the hot dog/restaurant feud began). Aired over that weekend but have not been able to pull it up on the WCCA web site. Will head to the TV13 Headquarters to find a hard copy and post to our site (drgonzos.com) so that folks outside of Worcester County can get a grasp of why we love to live here.

Interview w/Greg Burne WSRS's Worcester Speaks Out, 8/3/08. Lot's of fun with Greg (confirmed Habeneromash addict since 2006). Will be posting the 29 minute segment on the site.

Various Barbecue Events throughout New England (check the site)
Successful introduction of our Kamehamehamash (git yer TIKI on), "Industrial Strength" One Hump Jerky and our latest Wazoo Juice hot sauce.
Up the Wazoo Shooter recipe: 75/25 mixture of Sailor Jerry's high octane spiced rum to Wazoo Juice. Shake w/ice and strain into shot glasses. Brought to you and approved by the good folks of I Smell Smoke competition on BBQ team and me. ENJOY!

Banjo Dave's Hootenanny 8/1-3. My third year attending this three day shindig in the wilds of the Brookfield area. Yep, this gig is on the cusp of becoming a large 'happening'.
Great Bluegrass picking around the fire late into Saturday morning. 25 people in the circle this year: numerous guitars, 3 mandolins, 2 fiddles, three upright basses, dolbro, banjos, harmonicas, hand percussion and some nutcase with an accordion. The jam continued on Saturday as more folks set up tent city. Brief showers passed as the stage lit up with an electric jam featuring a host of Sturbridge All Stars and followed by Southbridge's Weight of Gravity. Everyone brought a succession of great food: barbecue, fresh produce, chowder, fried clam cakes, brick oven pizza and no one went hungry. Not much rest early into Sunday with some intrepid musicians greeting the dawn. A round of Bloody Mary's garnished with some killer Dilly Beans brought life back into the faces of the participants. Thanks to Dave & Chris for another great gig.
(For more info on the Hootenanny, head to Hyland Brewery in Sturbridge and ask around).

Indian Ranch Beerfest (1st Annual) 8/16/08. Good folks at Indian Ranch put on a great day of Beer & Blues (the British Yankees). Lot's of laughs.
Rutland Chowderfest (our first time) 8/17/08. Great event for the whole family.
Monday Night Scotch Tasting, KJ Baron's, Awesome event that happens EVERY MONDAY NIGHT!!! Great way to start off your week. That's right folks, actually look forward to Monday's!! What a concept. Had a chance to share some spicy comestibles alongside some great drams. I know where I'll be for the foreseeable future on Mondays!

Blues 'N Brews Festival this Saturday @ Nashoba Valley Ski Resort in Westford. Our fourth year participating. Stop by for great beer and blues.

Last note: we're in the process of locating a retail location in Worcester. Yep, a spicy comestible mega retail emporium for you to walk in and taste the latest concoctions from our 'Secret' Underground Lab. Stay tuned for further news....

As always, all the best to you and yours, Stu Esty AKA the "Good Doctor"

Re: Greetings from GONZOland

It took me a few minutes to understand this post.

I bought some of the peppermash at one of the events on wachusett mountain a few years ago. The stuff is incredible. I think i bought some peppery mustard as well. Awesome stuff.

Yup.

Re: Greetings from GONZOland

I made some keilbasa this morning and through some Smoke Island Elixir on it. It was holy shit good!

Nice to see this kind of stuff being produced locally.

Re: Greetings from GONZOland

I was practically bathing in the garlicmash and the smoke island elixer for a while.
I put the peppermash in my turkey loaf to make it angry and delicious.

Saw Dr. Gonzo and son a few times at the North Quabinn Garlic and Arts Festival in Orange. A good time was had by all and the weather has been great the last couple of years.

We use the Peppermash and mustards regularly. The Good Doctor's products are top notch. Welcome Doc!

And yet, I've lived your future out, by pounding stages like a clown

Re: Greetings from GONZOland

Dear Doctor: To request that a locally-produced WCCA TV13 show be posted online, e-mail mike@wccatv.org. A few producers take the initiative to post their shows themselves; most, unfortunately, do not.

BTW, your wish is my command:

The theme to Coffee with Konnie is kind of sexy! Jazz flute!
