Most of you have already seen it, and are probably sick of hearing about it. But, I'm excited and I figure sharing my project with you guys is better then making strangers in the aisle of Home Depot look at my pictures.
I was outside the Dive one night frustrated with the fact that I couldn't find a store front with reasonable rent. When Chris (the guy with the Completo) jokingly offered me half his hot dog trailer. The next morning I was bidding on classic trailers on Ebay. Few weeks later this was in my driveway:
I'm repurposing it in to a traveling vintage store.
Here are some before pictures:
here is where I'm at now:
It's going to stay parked in my drive way when it's not at a market, party, festival, special event or a house call. I already have a Grand Opening Party planned, some market dates and a few sidewalk sales booked with some other vintage stores in Boston.
I think that is an incredible idea. I've had a soft spot for many years now for a small airstream trailer...this is equally cool with the new interior, I must say even the "old" interior was pristine, nice score! Excellent idea as well...very (fashion) forward thinking!!!
Also, invest in a top of the line trailer hitch lock, and at least one lockable wheel chock (think police wheel "boot") so no one will make off with your new enterprise.

People keep mention this, I wonder what someone (besides me) would want with a trailer full of old clothes. but, I would be heart broken. In my weeks of searching I only came across one other Bellwood Aloha Trailer, these things are pretty rare.
I had to beg the previous owner for weeks to make sure he didn't sell it to anyone else.
Pretty nifty, Punky! You know, I'm still wearing all those clothes you gave me like three years ago...it's probably time for an upgrade, eh? :p

That's really awesome! And yeah, definitely get a secure hitch. Trailers are pretty easy to steal and someone might think it's full of band equipment which could be easily pawned. Touring bands have this happen to them all the time.
awesome job Punky. great progress in a short amount of time (insert busy beaver joke here ______). can't wait for the grand opening festivities! congrats on taking your vision to the next level.

Some jerks would take it for no other reason than they have a ball on the back of their truck and your trailer isn't secured....sometimes that's all it takes, and I would hate to see you lose a lovely trailer as this, and yer venture all at once to some unscrupulous jerk...I mean 25-35 bucks for a good titanium hitch lock is a pittance in comparison.
Your belief in the idea that people are nice and not unscrupulous is something I love about you Punks. But the boys are right, some people are dicks/hard up/desperate.

I bought those fancy chalk markers you recommended for the chalkboard door. I cant wait till I have something official to write on there.
I'm searing the internet for Vintage Trailer Lover groups now...dorkville USA over here.
Oh yeah and I chose a name...Haberdash by Punky.
I'm still looking for someone to silk screen little trailers on my tote bags for the grand opening party.
Great trailer!
When do you need your bags for?
I have a screen-print shop in my house.
If you are still in need of printing, let us know. brilliantriot@charter.net
I like the irony of a "trailer" complementing the really upscale font on #3. My fave.
What, was "Funky by Punky" taken?
wink.
"Funky By Punky" never came up. It was always going to be Punky's Vintage but then Kyle called the trailer a haberdashery and I couldn't get the word out of my head. It's such a fun word.
Have you tried either of these fonts:
rocket script or air conditioner? I think I got them both from dafont.com
(Can't figure out how to post a pic of these 2 fonts or I would.)
I like # 4, I think it looks the most seemless. I also like the font on # 3, I agree it has a retro quality about it, but I like the effect of the underline on 4.
Re: I have to share my new project
Punky - this is the coolest thing ever! You have been one busy girl...love the ceiling!

Re: I have to share my new project
This is going waaaay smoother than my condo renovation. So where are you gonna park it?
Re: I have to share my new project
Very cool idea...Is that a home made shoe rack??
Re: I have to share my new project
Yeah the stripper pole is a nice touch.
I hear Punky is going to rent it out for Bachelor parties on wheels when she is not loaded up for weekend sales. Way cooler than a party bus!

Great job rehabbing it. Looks awesome.
Re: I have to share my new project
Thank you.
I already want to buy another one and sell things wrapped in bacon out of it.
Re: I have to share my new project
It is great....I have always wanted a small trailer once i have a yard of my own to make into an office or just simply a place of my own...
Super cute

How the hell did I do that???
Re: I have to share my new project
Which logo do you like best?

Re: I have to share my new project
I like the bottom one the best.
Re: I have to share my new project
Either/or bottom 2
Re: I have to share my new project
2 or 3
Re: I have to share my new project
second to bottom. bottom is too hard to read.
Re: I have to share my new project
I like the irony of a "trailer" complementing the really upscale font on #3. My fave.

Re: I have to share my new project
I like it too, I was just bein cheeky. v:O)~
Re: I have to share my new project
i like 3 or 4
Re: I have to share my new project
Three is my favorite.
Re: I have to share my new project
Three. No question. Clean, classy and slightly retro.
Re: I have to share my new project
I'll go with 4. It was between 1 and 4 but I think the underline under 4 really ties it together.
I'm also going to unofficially call your operation Punkerdashery. :)
Re: I have to share my new project
I like 4 for the underline as well.. I like the other fonts, but not the way they hook into the trailer.
Re: I have to share my new project
I like number one or four but if it's # one I think the lowercase h should be cursive and the trailer hitch should "flow" into it like cursive would.
And I unofficially call it The Hab... pretty sure I would have no matter what Punky called it.
Re: I have to share my new project
I agree, I think # 1 if was attached like #4
Re: I have to share my new project
#4 - it looks very "vintage car writing" like and that goes with the vintage trailer
# is my second choice - though it looks more formal and less funky/punky.
Re: I have to share my new project
#3
Re: I have to share my new project
I like number two if the letters were bolded
Re: I have to share my new project
