Did you read the part about how they offer a 10% discount to Teachers, Guidance Counselors, Military Persons and First Responders...I just think that is excellent.
BUT We had dinner there tonight and it was as delicious as always. And the staff were awesome to us as usual. They are still BYOB and serving great food. Their lunch menu is so freakin inexpensive and the next step is to offer some "heat and eat" kind of meals to take home for those of us who don't want to cook come 8:30 when we finally get home. They're talking about some more health conscious foods.
Leo, our server, was attentive, prompt and thoughtful. We talked about how hard a location Millbury street was for them and why. Winter was good to them because there was no one outside. But then once summer came and the riff-raff were out, no one wanted to park there or go in. Which is unsurprising having had to walk through some disorderly conduct to get in that place myself. They tried hard to keep the ambiance inside nice, but that combined with the economy proved to be too much.
But they looked at it like a lesson learned and they are forging ahead and hoping to make a better run at it on Main St.
So yeah, food was freakin great, and you should go back. :)
So what happened to the woman that owned Theatre Cafe? But I will not complain close Mexican on the weekends.. Works for me..
The woman who owns the Theatre Cafe and the former Baja Grill on Millbury St are one and the same. Appears to be combining both concepts at the Theatre Cafe location.
It also needs mentioning that the Theatre Cafe has four tables. This may not sound like a plus to some, but it creates a great intimate experience, and allows for a great rapport with the chefs. Every dish that came out of that kitchen was picture and taste-perfect. If I was looking bring a date to an of the out of the way, welcoming, delicious, hidden gem, this would be it.
I meet Yolanda Zambrano last year she was the one opening Theatre Cafe, she also owns the travel agency next door to the cafe. She is the one that owns Baja Grill too...
Just went and it was awesome. They have great vegetarian food, as a long time veggie that means a lot. The food was fresh and the people amazing. I Will go back often!
