I get a lot of questions from people about where they can flyer for shows. I thought it would be interesting if we all contributed to a list of places that allow you to flyer. I think we should start a similar list of websites you can promote on as well. I will do that later...
Here are some to get started with, copy and paste the list and add yours to it in your reply.
Newbury Comics - Shrewsbury
That's Entertainment - Park Ave, Worcester
Jelly's CDs - Park Ave, Worcester
Wurlitzer Music - Park Ave, Worcester
Al-Bums - Highland St, Worcester
Bean Counter - Highland St, Worcester
Union Music - Southbridge St, Worcester
Kurlan Music - East Mountain St, Worcester

What about those bulletin boards inside the entrance to most supermarkets? Does anyone know their policies? Putting flyers up in music stores is no more helpful in getting fans than posting your shows on WTDO (which are mostly musicians looking to plug their own bands already). Supermarkets are full of regular people who probably don't normally go to see live music, and the right, catchy flyer could make a difference.
Although I can't believe a place like Shaw's would ever allow that.

I don't think supermarkets care. I have put flyers up at them before and I think they stay up there. It is certainly a great place to reach people.

For the Grafton Inn shows, I would always put a flyer at Stop and Shop and people actually came to the shows because of them.

The Peking Garden. They got a glass case too, so it stays up. Go have a couple mai-tai's and ask nicely. Good topic.

Also, I think nothing works better than hand to hand delivery.

Do they have an area for posters? I know there is that area by the side entrance but I can't remember if there is a board there.

Sadly this is against the law. Clubs can get fined for this.
