Not a fan of the cussing. The music doesn't suck but I wouldn't do out of my way to see the band.

Don't ever listen to anything Barry ever says! That being said, I like the songs, the production and the instrumentation. Due somewhat to the vocalist (who by the way sounds really good)there is sort of a Duran Duran/Tears for Fears feel to the songs that I enjoy. I don't know how well that goes over now but it works for an old bastard like me and Barry is only a couple years younger than I am!
Keep at it.

and if I were you I would "do" out of your way to see them...they don spandex suits and are visual pleasure!

I may be old but I remember 2005 like it was yesterday.....

I was at the Lucky Dog Thursday night for the first of three nights in a row and went to see Preacher Roe. I Met the singer when he played at the Inn with Lusting Kay and figured.."what the heck who needs sleep to cook eggs" so I went out on a Thursday night to see them dragging Rob"I am an old man...remember Hip Civilians!" Ledoux with me.

The description I was told was Replacements or Smithereens but more on the Pop side. I agree with the comparison to the Smithereens because I always hated them.

Forgetting the sound issues(Pete DeGraff was working the board) there was zero stage presence, slightly above average songs and boring lead guitar work. My first reaction was Bees Knees lite, but that is an insult to Michael and crew. My second reaction was "I wouldn't have booked them at Ralphs on a Thursday. That was followed by..Well, I have heard worse(the third reaction came after Duncan bought me a Glenfiddich to calm me down)

Honestly, this band needs to PRACTICE more and learn to play like there is 300 people in front of them. The lead guitar player should learn a new solo because to me, they all seemed the same. The bassist played okay and seemed to be into it.

I will see them again..it could have been an off night but I was expecting a lot more.

Perhaps a more in depth review is in order.

I like prog rock, New wave, experimental, metal as well as dub so I would seem like a person who would like your music. You list Retrosleeper on your myspace page, love them as well.

Heres the thing, it all seems like too much. Too many different things going on for me to enjoy it, and not in a Mars Volta sensory overload way, just too many different directions. I hate to make this comparison but it reminds me of the Deadites, different music fused together, all done very well but it just doesn't work for me. You even have the goofy outfits like the Deadites.

"You Were the Accelerator" to me sounds like it's roots are in 70's disco a la Modest Mouse, not bad if you like that but I prefer more of a Stabbing Westward/NIN sound where the music has more of a Joy Division feel to it.

The vocals seem to fit the style of music, the guitar sounds good and you did a great job programing everything else into your computer/keyboard. It just doesn't do anything for me, what more can I say.
