There are going to be a couple over at the Abbey I think (anyone else finding it odd calling this place "the Abbey" for short when there is another Abbey of a completely different sort but no less prominent less than an hour away?) and they are going to be of not so common nature which is very very awesome.
The Dog has Strongbow in the cans which is super cool and Nick's has it in the bottle. The Greyhound has Magner's on tap and Paul says it is selling like hot cakes.
Cider is pretty much the best in the summer, expecially over ice. I wish there was more of a variety to choose from around here. Harpoon makes one that I have tried and it's pretty good but I haven't seen it in any of the local stores.
Harpoon Cider is any of the bigger stores in town (Austin in Worcester and Shrewsbury, State). It is pretty prevalent. It is ok. It tastes almost too fresh for me. I like cider when it is a bit sweet. Harpoon is tart, but tastes like the apple was just juiced.
Last night was my first time down to the Dive in a while, and just wanted to note that the beer and music were both outstanding. Great sets by Duncan, Mike, and Scott . . . and that creme brulee beer was really delicious.
It's the kind of place, and the kind of night, that makes you glad to live in Worcester. Can't wait to check out the Abbey now as well.
The Dog has Woodchucks too which I really like. Magners is too sour for me.... or it was the last time I tried it. I got by last night with a really good Gluten Free beer called Dragon's Gold. Very mild, very smooth.... yum!

I request that "Miss Ohio" song and Cole Porter's "You're the Top."
Re: The Dive - music and craft beer - July 31
What kind of ciders do they have? Its my new favorite thing....
Re: The Dive - music and craft beer - July 31
I don't believe they carry any cider. Beer is the specialty there.
Re: The Dive - music and craft beer - July 31
I believe there will be a cider available by the bottle at the Abbey.

I realized after I typed that when I say in town now I really mean within walking distance of my house. :)

Re: The Dive - music and craft beer - July 31
thank Jim.
and yeah, that Creme Brulee beer. There is a god.
Re: The Dive - music and craft beer - July 31
Thanks, jim. Good to see you last night. Nice to meet the wife as well.
I don't like the creme brulee. sorry.
Re: The Dive - music and craft beer - July 31
That creme brulee beer is more like a cordial or some sort of strange liqueur, not a beer. I can't drink more than one but it's a nice dessert.
oh and 10% alcohol, damn.
Re: The Dive - music and craft beer - July 31
That creme brulee is good but I need to be in the right mood for it. I still don't know whether I would go and get another full one ever.
