Rare Beatles music thread #8

This week we have a tape of the Fabs rehearsing at the Cavern Club in mid-December 1962.  Early versions of “I Saw Her Standing There” and “One After 909” were recorded this day as well as 2 versions of the unreleased “Catswalk” which was later given away and recorded by the Chris Barber Jazz Band as “Cat Call” in 1967.

It is known that the Beatles recorded many of these rehearsals.  In fact, in Paul’s brother Mike McCartney’s photo book, “Remember: The Recollections and Photographs of the Beatles”, there is a photo of the Beatles rehearsing at the Cavern and fully visible is a small reel-to-reel recorder.  Mike then mentions that he had a number of these tapes and some were stolen in a house break-in in the early 80’s and that could be where this tape originates.  It is not known at this time if any more of these recordings exist.
