Technology. That’s what this week’s thread is all about. DVD 5.1 audio technology to be exact. All the songs from this week come from one audio channel of the Beatles “Yellow Submarine” and “Anthology” DVD’s. We hear just chunks and pieces of stuff that was layered under the 2, 4, and 8 tracks in the recording studio and we hear vocals, guitars, and bits we’ve never heard before. Some are complete, others are not. These aren’t outtakes or anything really rare, just fun and interesting. Enjoy!!
"Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite"
"You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away"
"Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds"
Then we have a few interesting bits:
"A Day In The Life-orchestral buildup #1"
" A Day In The Life-orchestral buildup #2"
" A Day In The Life-orchestral buildup #3"
" A Day In The Life-orchestral buildup #4"
" A Day In The Life-orchestral buildup #5"
"end of I Am The Walrus-break in King Lear"
and 1 final one:
Re: Rare Beatles music thread #10
Simply fascinating. Nice to hear the difference in the real double-tracking versus the Automatic Double Tracking (Penny Lane vocal), and the obvious vari-speed pitch changes in some of the tunes. Damn good singing.
And as always, the way the parts were tracked together. I could listen to this stuff all day. Thank you again Louie.
It's a boy Mrs. Walker, it's a boy...

Can't get to the Day In The Life orchestral bits though.
