Looking to start a new project...feels like dating after a divorce :)
This is kind of weird...Lusting Kay is in 'Hiatus' I guess we will say.
I want to start a new project, but really, I don't even know where to begin. My bands have always been made through friendship networking, but I just don't really know any one who is starting bands right now, or exiting other ones.
Where are some good places to start? Do I need to start stalking Guitar Center? :)

You can't start a new project until you finish the old one!
Oh and yes, hang out at Guitar Center all the time. That and Hot Topic are the best places for you to find new people to start a band with.
But seriously, you should jam with your many musical friends to branch out and see what it's like playing with different people and you will probably run into like-minded people over the course, that you can start a project with.
You can still hang out at Hot Topic if you want though.

Ever since I got back from my third trip to Ireland a few weeks ago, I've been wanting to start a little project to play Irish traditional music (not "Molly Malone" kind of shit, though--more instrumentals), Pogues covers, and original music in that style--we'd be real busy in February and March, and then back to our regular bands for the rest of the year. This, despite the fact that I play an instrument (piano) that you will never find in a bar in Ireland.
So, you and me and Louie will get together and create a rock/jazz/blues/Irish traditional group, and the world will never have heard such a unique musical innovation.
Oh, wait, except for Van Morrison.
