Yeah, I tried to make it as familiar as possible to volcanoboy.com but there are some very big differences. I know change is uncomfortable but trust me this will be a better site.

viewing this format i feel like unfrozen caveman lawyer, frightened and confused.seriously, looks cool.
It's going to keep changing until it feels real good like it should :) I just added the quote function.I am hoping to make the forum a little more full featured too.One of the coolest things is that I can easily promote any of the posts in the forum to the front page, so when a topic heats up or turns into something interesting I can give it more attention on the front page.
oh good! I will cram next week and be ready for the 9th!
as for volcanoboy.com - once I fully move everything from there over to here, I'll begin working on that new site. Maybe anyone interested in contributing ideas could meet out for a drink one of these days and brainstorm how to make it a cool and useful site.
A couple of minor formatting things that I personally miss..
I liked the tighter layout of VB with the sharper borders, versus the amount of stuff presently "floating." I find the background color a bit faint and maybe not contrasting enough with the white post background, especially once you've scrolled down a ways.
I kinda liked how the user/poster info in each post used to be in its own well-defined sidebar.. it looks weird to me at the moment.
I might not be remembering correctly, but were the VB fonts generally smaller throughout the site? Some things seem kinda large at the moment.
I miss the reply count in the active topics sidebar.
That said, I think the new identity of the site will serve it better.

it's confusing. I am not sure what to do. I may move back the volcano boy domain. It needs some work.

scratch that, it is causing some problems fetching HTTP requests through PHP, I will work on it another time.
