This saturday March 1 will be the most jam-packed night of music ever held at VINCENTS for the benefit of the GEORGE CHIASSON MEMORIAL FUND which has been set up for his two young sons. George passed away on December 26 and the Worcester-Boston music scene lost one hell of a great guy. In order to honor him we have put together one truly spectacular show- an acoustic preview of the HUGE BLOWOUT that is planned for RALPHS saturday May 3 (tentative date)

these shows will feature the only appearances of CHILDHOOD this year and check out the rest of the lineup, all great bands that George loved (and most he played IN)

COLD DUCK (w/guest drummer Duncan Arsenault)

ROB LEDOUX (BRILLIANT, HIP CIVILIANS)

BART CARUSO (DHARMA BUMS)

NEIL AND RUGGY (THINNER)

CHILDHOOD (original lineup w/Ken Ebell)

CHILDHOOD (later lineup w/ Dave Bellenoit)

HUCK

starting at 9pm each band will play about 20 min, admission is free DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AND SOLICITED ALL EVENING FOR THE GEORGE CHIASSON MEMORIAL FUND- this is going to be a great night to honor our dearly missed friend George Chiasson and also to create a buzz for the huge RALPHS show coming up this spring- please come and share the songs, stories and toasts to George we plan on providing!!!

Can I make my donations in the form of one dollar bills tucked into the pants of the musicians? Cause I'd like to donate that way.

Hi! :-)

and what makes you assume the musicians will be wearing pants?

Myself, I think I'll be wearing a nice and bloody butcher's smock.

I really wish I could be there. George was such a great guy and this should be such a cathartic evening. Best to all and have a great time. I will be there on May 9.

Re: BIG BENEFIT this saturday march 1 Vincents featuring Childho

I was both astonished and delighted by the entire experience saturday night. We raised over one thousand dollars for Luke and Cole Chiasson- Pam's jaw dropped when I gave her the bundle yesterday-- she wanted evryone to know that she thought the performances were both joyous and reflective and sends her sincere gratitude to all involved.
Highlights for me included
* Bart Caruso (and Dave Schlick) with a completely heartfelt and sincere set of George's favorites from the Dharma Bums-  they were the only group to play without a drummer and the significance of the "empty chair" only added to the impact of the songs-  my heart was in my mouth
*Thinner jumping into their Popskull catalog and especially the "Itchy Coo Park" cover-  I had the Popskull version on cassette back in the day and used to blast it..saturday night that moment WAS "all too beautiful"
* the consumate musicianship of Greg Passler during both Childhood sets
* the raucous spur-of-the-moment Hip Civilians reunion
* the Paul Dagnello song with Huck (Without Asking?) was another moment for me, I love that song-  and special thanks to Paul who did a fantastic job managing the stage and sound
there were many more moments than those for sure and the entire evening was very special,  as someone told me later  "that was one fantastic group of people in that room"
peace and love and thanks
Kenny

It was a really great night, I had a blast playing and even more of a blast listening. I think that it's a reflection of how nice George was by seeing how nice all of his friends and family are. Thank you for letting me be a part of this Ken.
