So last night I am sitting at home flipping the channels and trying to decide whether to watch "Blade:Trinity" or another episode of "The Family Guy" when I came across a repeat of the "City Council debates Hot Dog Carts" fiasco on WCCA.
Now normally I find these City Council televised meetings more boring than whale shit, but as I listened I found out they were debating what will go down in City History as the Hot Dog Cart/Restaurant Feud of 2008.
I can't believe how totally out of control the meeting was with some city councilors just getting up and speaking whenever they wanted to (then a mayor who seemed more interested in her cell phone, having to reprimand them), a proposal that seems to have been made up and amended on the spot, and how totally confusing this new ordinance was to everyone.
Also, do the people who are on the City Council REALLY think that if I am going out with my wife to dinner at a restaurant that I am going to see a hot dog pushcart and totally abandon our plans and just eat at the pushcart?? How stupid do these jerks really think we are? Well, since they are in office they must think pretty idiotic as this is the most inane and backward thinking rule I have ever heard since my moving to this city 12 years ago.
These dinks can't even figure out a way to keep pigeons out of the underpass near Union Station when all you have to do is just travel to another city and see that they install little spikes so the birds can't land and shit all over the place.
Just another nail in the forward thinking Worcester coffin. Thanks to all who participated.
Re: City Council/Hot Dog cart debate
Just a note: The City Council meetings are not on WCCA (Ch 13) but instead on Ch 12, the "government channel."
(The online archives of City Council meetings are a project of the Worcester Independent Media Center, with equipment assistance from WCCA.)
Re: City Council/Hot Dog cart debate
Whoops! Sorry for the mistake. It was late and frankly after watching the City Council, even QVC was MUCH more interesting.
Re: City Council/Hot Dog cart debate
this is exactly what i was saying a few months back about airing this stuff on tv... these people look like fools. i cant believe they willingly air this stuff.
half of these people wouldn't last a week in the private sector.
"what?"
Re: City Council/Hot Dog cart debate
All this Hot Dog talk has inspired me to eat one for breakfast. I hope you are all proud of yourselves.
