I LOVE the idea of this site. I have so many mix tapes and have made just as many.
This is great.
They were into you, so they made you a tape. Today you don't have a cassette player, but you still can't toss that mix. We share the stories and the soundtrack to your earliest loves.
Re: Cassette From My Ex
This is awesome. Duncan emailed me about this, as he knew that I have literally hundreds of such mixtapes sitting in a box somewhere. Each one has it's own little story.
Re: Cassette From My Ex
No one ever loved me enough as a teenager to make me a mix tape.....lol
Re: Cassette From My Ex
Yeah, I made mix tapes for ladies, but the only mixtapes I ever really got were from Roger, pretty much just to learn songs...hahahahaha
I'm out getting my abs airbrushed on...leave a message
Re: Cassette From My Ex
I do have some mixed "cds" from an old bf...They were truly mixed as they are all electro and D&B tracks...lol
Re: Cassette From My Ex
I have a huge box of mixed tapes! Some were made for me, some I made for myself after breakups, and some I took back from undeserving boys . . . I want to listen to them again, but I don't have a tape player :( Although they sell a machine that will record your tapes to a cd, someday I'll buy it.
Ron, I would make you a mixed tape, but then Vicky would try to beat me up at the bus stop.

You can also get one of those for vinyl.
Re: Cassette From My Ex
It's ok, I still owe my other gal-pal Fanny one. v:O) thanks for the sentiment!!!
Re: Cassette From My Ex
Yeah I almost got one for Neil last year because all his records sit at his parents house because of lack of space in the loft...
Re: Cassette From My Ex
the best thing for me at least about making a mix tape for someone, was you always hoped that you would turn on a friend or girl friend to a band you really liked that no one really heard of yet.......
..for me, it was the STYLE COUNCIL (Paul weller from the JAM was in the band).
Mostly only big in the UK, I got into the Style Council big time in High School and put a few of their tunes on some mix tapes and almost everyone that heard the tape, loved the Style Council tracks and wanted to buy their tapes exclusively.
..I love when a plan comes together.. I turned like 4-5 peeps onto the band that had never even heard of them...and probably never would have.
Re: Cassette From My Ex
Thanks for the link. So, we should invest as a group . . . cause I just don't have $200.00 to invest in my nostalgia for early 80's music and break up tapes.
