like many great teams or seasons of SNL there are eras that resonate with the fans more than others. World of Pain with Lumberjunk, El Toro, Dr. X and Chimpan Z is a monumental team. I will say however that the latest team with Lumberjunk, El Toro, The Shovel, Nelson Pindella and Donny is a stellar lineup.
We are in week 11 of our 20 week Too Many Jackasses summer season. We will be recruiting for the Fall/Winter season if anyone is interested.
Growing up here, I know only from candlepin at T-Bird and the Metro Bowl on Park Avenue (now the roller rink). There IS a duckpin lane in Billerica--the balls, a bit larger than candlepin, gave me one mean hand cramp after two strings! Wish somebody would reopen the old Central Alleys under the Palladium...there's probably 40 years of White Owl smoke still trapped down there!
Things didn't go as planned for my team "World of Pain" this past Sunday. Sure we took two of the four points available from "Tom Sellecks Moustache" but it wasn't pretty. "The Corleones" came out swinging against "Beef Pit" and took all four points. The Godfather bowled an impressive 242 in game two.
Next week, there will be serious bowling action taking place.
I sucked ass last night. Ball had no hook at all. Starting to think I need a new ball that performs better in oily conditions. Auburn is so hit or miss with the oil. Pretty soon, I'll look like PDW coming in with the big suitcase. FUCKIN 10 PIN!
"Shout out to your wife Voila, Ron. One of the founding Jackasses and member of the victorious Corleone Family. The lanes miss you guys."
Sorry to have seen this so late, but yes, thank you Hammer, indeed we miss the lanes too. Next time, we will hopefully be on the boards. In the meantime Hammer, please hurt'em.
I hear rumblings from Dr. X and the Chimpan Z, that they are going to show up some Sunday, but why don't I see them on the lanes?
Too Many Jackasses miss you guys.
For those interested, we are nearing the end of the summer season and plan on starting up a fall league, probably in September. It is a handicapped league so you need not worry about your skill level. We have 20 people in the league that make up four teams, we can accommodate more people and more teams easily. We play every Sunday at 7pm at the Auburn AMF and it costs $15 a week. That includes shoes and 3 games.
contact me if you are interested in bowling with us dunc...@gmail.com
El Toro, what do you think about sanctioning our league for the fall?
I like that idea but I think it would require each player to be a sanctioned member which requires fees. I suppose we could roll some of the weekly money into that fee but I am not sure if people would go for it.

It would be cool to be a USBC sanctioned league.
If I heard Lumberjunk correctly on Sunday, it's only an extra $20 for the whole year. Gotta double check that.
I know that it's $144 a year to join the PBA, but that's different that what I think you are talking about. If you find out more info let me know.
With the PBA membership you get A gold PBA 300 Ring the first time you roll a 300 game during PBA competition. Add an award diamond to your ring for each additional 300 game in PBA competition.
They are that far ahead where no one else can catch them. If the 'Stache could have swept them last night it would have made it real interesting. Alas, they were the ones getting swept. Bowling will continue for the next 3 weeks but it's pretty much just for second place and for your own game. I have 2 personal goals, one is to finish above 170 average and two is to beat Erick's 246.
Nice try Punks :) We're bowling for the fun of beating the other teams now.... but after two straight weeks of loosing 4, not sure what's going to happen.

What's going to happen is a date with BEEF PIT!!!!!!!!
well, well, well, The Corleones knocked us off our streak last night. Good games guys.
for those of you paying attention to this thread that would like to be involved in the Fall season of Too Many Jackasses Bowling League, teams are forming now and the season officially begins Sunday September 21. let me know if you want in, here is what you need
1. $15 every Sunday at 7pm, for 19 weeks
2. a name by which your teammates will cheer you on with, and your opponents will fear and/or envy.
3. an insatiable desire to knock down pins with a ball.
If you are worried about your skill level, please stop. This is a handicapped league with all different levels of players.

4. The ability to listen to about 14 consecutive Journey songs at high decibels while knocking down said pins.
Re: Bowling
candlepin is the way to go
Life's short. Touch Art.
Re: Bowling
candlepin is fun, like mini golf and go carts.
Re: Bowling
I propose a trip to Sawyer bowl in Northboro, 6 lanes of candlepin goodness.
Re: Bowling
duckpin, bitches.
I love bowling, but never get out to play anymore.
I'm out getting my abs airbrushed on...leave a message
Re: Bowling
I grew up playing duckpin.
Never even touched "big balls" until after high school.
I will admit that Crystal and I have been a bit jealous at some of the bowling fun pics in Duncan and Punky's flickr accounts.
Re: Bowling
Just as long as y'all know World of Pain isn't the same w/o Dr. xXx.
Fact.

Re: Bowling

Re: Bowling
Does this mean we would be PBA bowlers? Will we be on TV? Will I have wear make up? Will Mr Bowling have to turn the sexy up to 11?
Re: Bowling
yes...and we get cool patches!
Really, it's just so if any of us want to compete in larger tournaments.

Re: Bowling

Re: Bowling
see you on the lanes mr. Bowling.
Good luck and good bowling
Re: Bowling
This week was sad for out team... I think its the first time we let all 4 slip away. Good bowling Corleone family.
Re: Bowling
Beef Pit gave us a run for it in game two, but World of Pain prevailed and swept for 4 points.
BP did have excellent new shirts. Here's a picture.
Re: Bowling
Nice job by Bowltron picking up the 3-7-10. That should not go unnoticed.
Plus, Lumberjunk with a 246 and a 230...WOW. Someone was locked in last night!
Re: Bowling
well, jeez, since we all roll 300s so often, i don't see why this hasn't motivated all of us to join already...
:P
Re: Bowling
That is one good looking team right there.
Re: Bowling
Moustache, we still love you.
Hi! :-)
Re: Bowling
Hey thanks, Doug! I didn't even think anyone saw it, then everyone started yelling and I started crying. Thanks for holding me.
Re: Bowling
Congrats to World Of Pain. 2008 Toomanyjackasses Champs. You are truly living in the Limelight.
Re: Bowling
If there is already a winner...Why is their 3 weeks left...do they still have to bowl?

Re: Bowling
What are the stats for the 'Stache and the Fam? Even if 1st is taken, there's still the battle for 2nd...
Re: Bowling
we are one point behind the 'Stache. So the race for 2nd is definitely still on.
Re: Bowling
Feeling a bit competative Miss Barbicide???
Doug's right, we are in a close race for 2nd place, time to step up the game.
