Beer: Hey, I am getting good at this...

Pardon my moment of bragging, but I've discovered this weekend that I took three gold medals at the annual local homebrewing competition, as well as Best of Show honors.  My Scottish 80-Shilling ale was the big winner, with the other golds being for my Belgian Pale Ale and my Columbus IPA.  (I guess it was an IPA after all, Alec...)

I also had the opportunity to assist the brewer with brewing a batch of Chair City Pale Ale at Gardner Ale House last week, something I hope to be doing regularly in the future. Dave the brewer was kind enough to allow me to get some "pro" experience in his facility.

Maybe I'll get that Worcester brewpub going someday after all...

Congrats man!  I'm glad to see your talents are being recognized!  Your Columbus IPA is spectacular!

Enjoyed the rye...very earthy yet extremely refreshing!   Looking forward to the ESB.  Now hurry up and open a brewery so I can sell your beer!

You'll be glad to know that a dubbel and a tripel are in the works, and the Holy Hand Grenade will be ready in a month or so...

I'd probably have to start with a brewpub and grow into commercial production, a la Dogfish Head, but it will be a year or three at least. Please keep cultivating the Worcester beer audience so that the town will be big enough for the both of us. ;)
