"Stuart Ferguson writes and performs a collection of stunning, heartfelt songs on his latest album Shackles & Ties. He's an excellent guitar player and fine singer who demonstrates an amazing ability for capturing life's unending moments in song. And although his compositions seem to have an underlying current of sadness, there is a strong sense of hope derived from Ferguson's acute ob...
On Wednesday, October 1st, 2008, from 6-9pm, an opening reception will be held for The Ghosts of Wormtown, a rock 'n' roll photo show by George Query. Mr. Query is a brilliant and passionate professional photographer and rock music enthusiast whose love of visual culture and rock music led him to shows all over New England in the 1970s and 80s. With his trusty camera in hand, he captured the spirit of an age when the music scene in Worcester was supposedly so dead it was s...
WORMTOWN'S ENDLESS SUMMER
Hey gang, now that the nights are getting cooler and arriving earlier folks are retreating indoors. Fortunately you can keep that summer feeling all year long. All you have to do is listen to something local; say a catchy guitar strumming singer/ songwriter, some bad ass head banging metal, or a sing along hard rock band. Fortunately, Wormtown's got all of that and more, enjoy.

This is the case this month with the new CDs Ive gotten from The Campaign for Real Time, Cant Kill Katie, Hey Now Morris Fader, Silent Mind and Wreckoning. Hopefully youll find something you like in this batch of CDs too. - Phil McNamara

WOW, what a weekend coming up. There so much going on , you couldn't possibly do it all. But try anyway. Start Friday at The Lucky Dog with
Sasquatch and the Sick-a-Billys. Always guaranteed to be a wild time, go and see why this guy gets banned from most of the bars he performs.
Then on Saturday there are at least 5 shows to go to. First at Benders on Park Ave.
Public Uproar open for a bunch of bands I've never seen before ,and it starts early and so should you! Next , head over to Ralph's for
The Numbskulls,
Gein and the Graverobbers,
The Automatons, and
The Rabies, from Buffalo NY. Ok, by now you're probaly getting hungry , so stop by
Nick's on Millbury St for their one year anniversary party with FREE FOOD! and performances from Lisa Marie and Friends.
After that, while you're in the neighborhood, finish up at The Hotel Vernon for a FREE punk show featuring
Can't Kill Katie,
Refuse Resist,
Hoodrat,
Electric Bucket, and
The Dipshits.
That should keep you and you liver rockin' all weekend.
This month brings three discs of inspired hard rocking. Clear the Way rock hard in a straight up, catchy melodic way. Guns of Navarone rocks hard in a danceable skankin old school reggae kind of way, and Hated rock hard in an angry, screamy, finger pointing heavy metal kind of way; but what they all have in common is that they all rock hard. Im not making that up. Phil McNamara

As you may have seen somewhere, there is a Presidential Election this year as GW's term is just about up. Two very distinguished candidates are now, as we speak, vying for your support. One is a Vietnam War vet, the other a young upstart from the Midwest. Which do I support you may ask? Neither. I want someone with true experience. Someone who has dealt with crisis before . That person would be Duane Engalls Glasscock. A candidate from the past, who has the ability to lead us into the future. For more information,
listen here and you'll agree. We need him more now, than ever.
