Re: 100 Greatest Rock Drummers

Seems very tilted towards harder and heavy rock.  What about the crazy discordant drum rolls on "Via Chicago," esp. on Kicking Television?

Lots of Keith Moon.  I have heard completely different analyses of Keith Moon as a drummer--I've heard musicians say he was brilliant, and others that he was just wild, and not all that hot at doing the basic stuff that drummers are supposed to do to help support a song.  It's hard for me to tell.

What do others think?

Re: 100 Greatest Rock Drummers

Yeah, lists suck but I have a hard time believing Moby Dick is the greatest drum track ever recorded. I'm a big Zep fan too. Most popular rock track perhaps.

The guy from Tool is on this list 15 times.

Pete Thomas is on the list once.

I weep.

Re: 100 Greatest Rock Drummers

ya this is a popularity list for drummer fans.

a lot of this doesnt make much sense.

hot for teacher for example is not a creative nor difficult drum track by any means.

Re: 100 Greatest Rock Drummers

Yep. Although, I have it on my laptop and my desktop computer. Both of which, I am not listening to music on at the moment. Once I move into my new place it'll be back to normal. I am using the lastfm embeddable player on myspace.
